How To Use This Module

Gates page content behind a form. Visitors see some of the page content and then a form at the bottom. Once they submit the form, the gate goes away and the full page is revealed.

Use only one Content Gate module per page.

Use Cases

Form Integration

Works with any HubSpot form, including the Reduced Field Form (RFF). The form always appears, even for visitors who have submitted it before, so every submission is tracked accurately.

Form Appearance

Choose how the form looks in the gate: Default shows the form directly on the gate, and Card places it inside a card for a more contained look.

Two Gate Modes

PX based: Cuts the page off at a set height in pixels (Gate Height, 1200px by default).

ID based: Shows everything above a specific section (Gated Section ID) and hides that section and everything below it. Useful when the gate should start at a particular section rather than at a set height.

Choose What Gets Gated

By default, the gate applies to the main content of the page. The Gate Target Selector field lets you gate a different part of the page instead.

Editor Preview

In the page editor, a notice explains that content will be gated when published, and the form is shown below it. The gate itself isn't applied in the editor, so the full page stays visible and editable.

Guidelines

One Gate Per Page

Only one Content Gate works on a page. If you add more than one, only the first is applied.

Choosing the Gate Point

  • Set the mode with Gate Length Type. Only the setting for the selected mode is used.
  • Use PX based for a simple cut-off. Check the published page on desktop and mobile, because the same pixel height shows different amounts of content at different widths.
  • Use ID based when the gate should start at a specific section. The section needs an HTML ID, which you then enter in Gated Section ID.

Gate Target

  • The default target, main, works on most pages.
  • On flexible templates, use .body-container-wrapper for the general template or .side-nav-template-main-content for the side nav template.

Site Schema

If the Site Schema experimental feature is enabled on a gated page, also add -- gated_content -- to the page's Head HTML (Page Settings → Advanced). Without it, the page gets duplicate schema.

What's New?

| v5.22.0 October 2026

  • Content Gate is now on the microsite. It gates page content behind a form: visitors see a preview of the page and submit the form to unlock the rest.
  • Choose a Form Appearance (Default or Card) to show the gate form directly on the overlay or inside a card.
  • Page content fades smoothly into the gate overlay.
